Testimony: He Wants Us to Return to Him

by Jana Cannon

I know that I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father, and as such, I have been given an inherited divine nature. I am grateful for that nature and the knowledge it gives me. It means that if I strive to live the way He has set forth, that I will someday inherit a place with Him and my Savior Jesus Christ.
I am eternally grateful that no matter what I may be experiencing in this life, that Jesus knows of me and knows exactly how I am feeling and how to help me.
I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He died so that I may live with Him again. I am so grateful that He was willing to suffer all things so that my meager efforts to live righteously would be enough, that He will fill the enormous gap between me and Heavenly Father so I can be in His presence and feel of their love. I am eternally grateful that no matter what I may be experiencing in this life, that Jesus knows of me and knows exactly how I am feeling and how to help me.
I know that He has restored His church in the latter days through Joseph Smith and that He revealed another testament of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mormon. I am grateful for being a member of His true church and having the knowledge that the gospel brings. I know that families are eternal and that the temple is a huge blessing that allows families to be sealed together. I am grateful for the temple and the closeness to Heavenly Father I feel when I enter.

I am extremely grateful for the blessing of the priesthood, to know that there are many men who have the authority to use Heavenly Father’s power on this earth, and all of the blessings, wonders, and miracles that come from that.

I know that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to return to Him and that He will do all in His power to help us and support us, if we just listen to His counsel and direction and follow the example of His son, Jesus Christ. I know that this church is the true church and that by living the principles of the gospel, we can and will return to our heavenly home and have a place in the kingdom of our Heavenly Father. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
