Acts of Kindness

The following are small but simple acts of kindness that have touched people in our stake.

I love giving service. I know I am blessed so much more than the receiver. I always thank Heavenly Father for the inspiration to go and help someone. When I have specifically prayed to have an open heart that day to be of help, I have had an opportunity to serve that day. I am so grateful for being an instrument in His hands.

My mother came and showed me how to do indexing by spending an evening with me. I have in two week's time been able to index 2,000 names using my time more wisely. A great spirit has been in our home.

I have been so blessed by my daughter's coming over every night to help me with my problem legs. She has really been wonderful.

When I go to the store I have found that if I smile and say something nice the people will smile and thank me.

When my grandmother took a turn for the worst and began the process of dying, my husband was traveling and my mother could not be here. I had to take the role of being by my grandma's side each day. I was blessed with service by neighbors and friends in the ward to watch my children and bring in meals. I never would have made it through this difficult time without these kind acts of service.

Just being a friend to a dear friend recently, I was the recipient of the most beautiful floral arrangement that came to my door--how enormously humbling to me.

Offering rides to ward activities to neighbors and widows and garden produce shared.

My very busy visiting teachers took their time (one hour) to come to my house and try to teach me how to use the computer to make an invitation.
