Seen by Christ: Lauren Perkins

DESCRIBE AN EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU HAVE FELT SEEN BY JESUS CHRIST-

Lauren Perkins, Roberts Farms Ward
Hi, Friends!! I have lived in the Roberts Farms Ward for 8 years. We absolutely love it here!! I was asked to describe an experience when I felt seen by Jesus Christ.
4 years ago I received a devastating phone call that my husband was involved in a serious accident with some Young Men in the ward. Details were thin in the moment, and all I knew was injuries were very extensive, lifeflight was on its way, and we all needed to drop to our needs and pray. In an effort to not worry my kids, I quickly ran outside. A few moments later our sweet Bishop and his wife just happened to be rounding the corner in their car. (No coincidences.) My bishop saw me and stopped, and I frantically told him of the news I had just received (Bless him in that moment, too.) He was able to give me a hug as I stood there and cried, and was beginning to feel the weight of the world come crashing in. Without a single thought of hesitation, Bishop Williams so reverently and firmly promised me we would all get through this because of the love our Heavenly Father and Savior have for us. And we did. We were able to see and witness several miracles that day and in the weeks that followed. ❤️ Looking back, I’ll always remember that moment as a hug and comfort that could truly be felt as a tender mercy from Him. He, who knows all things. He, who catches us when we fall. He who brings calmness to the storms. Jesus absolutely sees us. Jesus is totally aware of us. And Jesus loves us. This moment forever solidified that for me.
One of my tip-top favorite “gospel” related songs is titled: Oceans, Where Feet May Fail, by the LDS based sister trio, Elenyi. Every time I pause and reflect on this picture of Jesus walking on water that hangs on my fireplace, I think of the words in that song. ❤️
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep my faith will stand
And I will call upon Your Name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
So I will call upon Your Name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine…
